Valentine’s Day musings (not a forward). Two lessons from bible, and my musings, rather!
FIRST LESSON:
“And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Ephesians 5:21 NLT
Lots of people think wife should submit to husband, and strangely, most of those who do also act out as if they submitted to their wives. Remember Boban & Molly cartoons of the 70s, where the character of Chettan is always afraid of the dictatorial Chedathy!
SECOND LESSON:
“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT
Most people like myself think it is my priorities that the wife should adapt to, or vice versa. WRONG!
Building one another up is a lifelong journey, and either partner should do equally towards the other. This includes support for his/ her passions, careers, achievements, disappointments, including finding the time and energy to do so, and even publicly showing the support.
Both verses jumped out from this book.
